In this engaging and interactive session, attendees will consider the various relationships they keep — with clients, colleagues, and self — and how the current landscape in the insurance industry can impact each of these integral relationship dynamics. Together we’ll explore topics like boundary setting and holding, self-advocacy, and how we define success. As is her hallmark, facilitator Meg McKeen throughout this session will weave real-time stories and relatable anecdotes encouraging participants to share their own experiences, too.
In this session, attendees can expect to:
- Understand how, even when united for a common goal, the reality is different for each individual navigating the insurance landscape.
- Be inspired to consider the work they do through a new lens -- one that will be relevant even when the market shifts again.
- Explore positive approaches to burn-out, especially in the current hard market.

In today’s fast-paced and challenging environments, how we communicate — both with ourselves and others — shapes our success and well-being. This interactive session begins with an exploration of self-talk, uncovering its influence on our emotions, actions, and responses to stress. From there, we’ll dive into practical strategies for navigating difficult conversations, improve interpersonal interactions, and communicate with clarity and confidence. You’ll leave equipped with tools to transform stress into meaningful action, foster clearer connections, and thrive in both professional and personal interactions.
In this session, attendees can expect to:
- Recognize and manage negative self-talk (inner chatter) to reduce stress and create constructive action plans.
- Enhance communication skills by understanding non-verbal cues, including body language, tone, and pacing.
- Explore how underlying thoughts and feelings influence the ways you interpret and respond to communication.
- Apply strategies for positive, clear, and empathetic communication in peer, customer, and personal interactions.
